Explain the use of mail terminal clients?

Prompt, what for mail terminal clients like "Alpine" are necessary?
I set it up, looked it up, clean text, you can’t see anything graphic through them, then that’s all there is to it ...
Or is it, as they say, "yesterday"?

If such a question arises, then you do not need such clients))
In general, based on the name - mail clients for use in the terminal.
For example, on a Linux machine without X, check mail. You can quickly write a letter with one command:

alpine [ options ] [ address , address ]

Or use in scripts, and so on.

In Linux, it is convenient to work remotely in the console via ssh. And this is for a long time.
Therefore, there are orders of magnitude more console programs than graphic ones.
Read mail - it can be extremely useful on a remote server.
