ESLint + Prettier in VS Code or like Vue-Cli plugins?

This is the first time I'm connecting ESLint and Prettier to a Vue.js project
and I've come across 2 use cases:
1) Install as vue-cli plugins
2) Install as vs-code plugins
What's the difference? Or should it be shared?
