Encryption strength: complex password or complex salt?

Good afternoon! I was interested in the following question - how will changing the length of the password and salt affect the cryptographic strength and performance when working with an encrypted partition? For example, a sample of 100 cases, in the first case, the password consists of 1 character, and the salt of 99, in the second case, the password of 2 characters, and the salt of 98, etc. down to a password of 99 characters and a salt of one. Also wondering if there is a difference in terms of cryptographic strength and performance when working with an encrypted partition between a file container and a fully encrypted partition?

In order for the salt to play its role - its length of 8 characters is sufficient, the remaining 92 - give the password. The rest is described above by Artem
