Elasticsearch is running but not available?

ubuntu

Installed elasticsearch on ubuntu, it is running (elasticsearch status), but

curl -XGET 127.0.0.1:9200

gives an error message

Failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 9200: Connection refused

Googled, advice doesn't help. Tried to change configs in elasticsearch.yml (network.host network.bind_host) nothing helps.
How to find the reason? Where to look?

What
does lsof -ni | grep elastic
?
and look at the logs
