EGPU for Lenovo ThinkPad W541 someone successfully "fastened"?
There is a laptop ThinkPad W541, configuration with i7 4810, 32Gb and K1100 discrete video. Strong enough heating in 3D strains ...
Has anyone tried using egpu with this laptop? Have a positive experience?
If so, what is the preferred connection method - to the DP / thunderbolt2 connector or using an express card?
Is it really worth it?

DP is a digital high-performance iso output and it will not work for eGPU, we immediately recline it.
It remains Thunderbolt and Express card. When connecting external PCI-E devices, the syncpads have a lot of troubles (intentional, from the manufacturer), unlike the "pop" laptops, where you plug in almost any desktop PCI-E peripheral, like in a PC, and it will move. The verdict - if you don't mind the money - try it. Troubles - a lot of things are locked at the BIOS level. Buy / borrow, try, in case of a fiasco - sell what you bought as "almost new". The probability is 50/50. but first of all - GOOGLE everything that can answer questions
