E-book for technical literature?

At the moment, the choice is between Nook and Kindle 3. There are no money options for 9.7 " yet.
I've wanted Nook for a long time, but their new revision is not sewn, and it's impossible to read pdf in the standard firmware.
So the question is, is it worth taking a steam bath, Looking for old revisions on eBay, or taking a Kindle and not soaring the brain?

Kindle DX is the best ever. The software packages are a little more convenient and functional, but the design of the service and the screen win Kindle

Kindle 3. I myself recently wanted to buy a Nuk, but I stopped the moment that the built-in pdf reader does not allow zooming, and increasing the font does not affect scanned PDFs at all (and technical literature is just mostly scanned). As a result, it turns out that at least somehow you need to install a third-party reader and read technical PDFs in a lindscape, but for this you need to flash the nuk, and as you know, the new revision has not yet been hacked. Plus, the nook is not adapted to portrait mode, and even if you still install a third-party reader, you will have to flip through the pages with the buttons on the touch screen, which will significantly affect fuel consumption ...

I'm afraid to pronounce it in vain, but maybe Ipad? I, after 3 years of experience using Lbuk, somehow got cold to specialized devices. On universal ones, the competition is higher - someone always implements what is needed.

The recently released Sony PRS 650 is worth a look
. The same screen as the Kindle 3, but it's more convenient to work with PDF in landscape mode thanks to the touch screen.

I have long wanted Nuk, but their new revision is not sewn, and it is impossible to read pdf in the standard firmware.

A nuk came to me a couple of weeks ago (I took it on the site) - the revision is old (1002), everything was sewn.
By the way, I think you can live with a standard reader. You will need to pull the pages into pictures, rotate, cut, trim (all this with some kind of graphics-magick'om), and clamp it back into pdf. For APDFViewer, you still have to do this (except for rotation-slicing), because fit to width he does not know how yet.

You can't read PDF at 6 inches, so there's not much difference. But I would take the Kindle, because they stuffed everything into the nuke to the heap, from which the battery dies quickly.
PDF reading makes sense from 9 inches.

for PDF, the iPad is ideal. The only alternative is the Kindle 3, but it costs so much that it's better to take an iPad

Are Kindles and iPads officially sold? I compare in US prices.

Since the question is still alive, then ... new nuks have been reflashing for a couple of days.
