Duckduckgo is a Yandex partner?

I wanted to switch to the Duckduckgo search engine, but it says that they cooperate with Yandex, use its search engine. But how do you know if they are leaking data to Yandex with such a partnership? And won't the Yandex engine promote its services in the top results, as well as remove queries that are subject to censorship in Russia from the results?

They claim they do not store personal data, how can they leak what they do not have, provided that their claims are real.
