Dual rank vs dual channel?

Actually, I can’t google how much one dual-rank memory stick is slower (and generally slower) than two sticks operating in dual-channel mode. There is one two-rank die, does it make sense to add an additional one to it, if not the volume is important, but the speed of work? Please send some tests if you can.
