Doing resource-intensive tasks/RDP work on the home "server"/main machine?

Good day ladies and gentlemen. It was not possible to formulate the question more precisely, I also did not find topics similar to my question on the toaster. If there are, please post a link.
In short:
I work as a system administrator at home (I will program in the future). The main load on the computer is virtualization. The rest of the tasks come down to browsing sites, reading documentation, instant messengers, working in an IDE (for which a regular nettop / laptop is enough. In my case, of course).
For 10 years of work, I'm pretty tired of the noise of the computer (hereinafter referred to as the server), and indeed any technical noise (maybe it's time to check). Despite the fact that the main machine has coolers with PWM Noctua (x4), even this noise is already a lot (after installing Noctua coolers, now not 4 coolers make more noise, but two 3.5" hard drives, whose constant hum is even more annoying).
The task is in the following:
Move the computer to a closet-type closet (with doors) in the hallway, and put a nettop with passive cooling in the room and connect to the server via RDP over a wired gigabit
network
. installed 2-4 120-140mm coolers with dust filters for intake on one side and exhaust on the other;
2. Turn on / off the server: mainly through WOL, for emergencies I will buy a smart socket or make it on a raspberry through a relay;
3. I don't play games from the word at all - the nuances with the use of video card resources disappear.
That's all, if I missed something, please correct me.
There was also an idea to buy a pair of HDMI cables 30 meters each and an extension cable for USB (keyboard, mouse, flash drives) to stretch from the closet to the table, but the cost of this good will cost the cost of the Intel NUC, which seems to me not rational.
For several years of working with two monitors, I came to the conclusion that the second monitor is used only as an additional source of information. That is, as a rule, the target program is open on one monitor, in which the main work is going on, and on the second, a messenger / book / site / monitoring logs / schemes and all this spirit is usually open, for which, again, a regular computer is enough.
Using two monitors as one (combining) I do not use. I tried it, even with frames of 0.5 cm, the strip in the middle is annoying especially when working in IDE. So I'm not used to it.
From this follows the idea that if I have an RDP connection on the main monitor on the nettop, and auxiliary software already running locally on the second, then it should be quite comfortable.
As a result, this will give - a complete absence of noise, less dust pollution of the server (in theory, due to the closed space and filters, which means you will have to clean less often), less junk on the table.
The point is no longer a technical implementation, but a matter of comfort and productivity. Of course, the comments of those who had experience of working under such a scheme or are now working this way are of interest. Is it possible to work, is it convenient, what are the nuances?
Thank you in advance. Sorry for the long text, I was trying to reveal the picture.

Very often I work on RDP (last time just now, lol).
It may well be convenient if the server is not very far away. I'm not very far away, so I don't feel any delays at all.
In general, the idea has the right to life. There are disadvantages, but you can look for an alternative to RDP.

I will say one thing, I work remotely, RDS, a computer at work in the office, I connect from home, delays in the click are annoying and I also can’t fully use the keyboard.

it is possible to reduce the noise from the PC to zero - passive cooling through radiators .. at least the size of a nightstand and a flash drive and not a hard drive ... a special mother is selected and a special CPU
and also from android to Windows via rdp, and through a team viewer Especially with any dots of the world! only there are security issues and fps drops ..
well, it’s purely to monitor a well-closed server - if there is very important info there, then look at it through a webcam ...
