Does Zimbra redolog take up a lot of space?

Zimbra version 8.8.12_GA_3866.FOSS
Once a week I expand the Zimbra disk by 100-200 GB, but the space continues to run out, I decided to find the cause of the filling and start fighting it.
Almost all the space on the partition is occupied by the redolog folder:
7.2T redolog
347G store
The redolog folder contains files from the moment the server was deployed. After a long study of the search results in Google, I realized that redolog is some kind of backup tool. In connection with this, perhaps stupid questions arose:

1. If you clear the contents of the /zimbra/redolog/arhive folder, will this affect the contents of mailboxes and will the information in them be lost?
2. If only files are left in the folder (for example, for the last month), will it be possible to restore data later using Zimbra, or is it not worth wasting time and hoping for backup copies of the virtual machine? I found the manual, but haven't experimented yet https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Steps_to_extract_blob...
3. Couldn't figure out if the data in the archive folder is stored in its pure form or archived? from daily report: 23038m bytes received; 99163m bytes delivered and then the volume of the folder should be many times larger or does redolog not archive everything?
