Does Windows 8 support MFC?

A GUI MFC application compiled in Visual C++ 2010 and running fine under Windows 7 does not work under Windows 8.
Does Win8 support MFC? If yes, what could be the problem?

The problem is obviously in the absence of the necessary dll on Windows 8
