Unlikely.
Why do they need an extra overhead?
They even NEVER delete pictures from disks for simplification. Remove only links to them.
And you want such a resource-intensive thing as encryption.

if you hacked VK and were going to dump the database and you think there will be user messages in clear text - yes. everything will be stored there. without encryption.
