Does the skin in android studio affect something or is it purely appearance?

My problem here was solved by changing the skin, but I need to finish testing the application. If I continue with another skin? So it can somehow affect the functionality of the application?

What do you call a skin? Can you write what it's actually called?
The color scheme doesn't affect anything.
Although large-scale modifications like Material UI can break the interface.
