Does the PHP compiler work natively in Visual Studio Code or do I need to download something?

I try to compile the code associated with html - php - database and even nothing happens. Before that, some crap got out in the editor when I created a php file, and therefore I think now, either I am a crab, or VScode will not compile PHP without plugins and other downloads.

PHP works without any compilers, it is an interpreted language.
