Once the system administrator asked:
- Teacher, would you like a beautiful picture for your desktop? I have a collection of "desktop wallpapers" with starry sky and moral law.
– Why do you think my current “wallpaper” is worse? Yin Fu Wo asked in response.
I don't know what picture you have now. I have never seen your desktop. You always have many windows open.
“I never saw him either,” said Venerable Yin. - I work.
Apparently not very much, as I put Windows, as the standard ones stand, I don’t worry.
I don't pay attention, the desktop is flooded with #222 color, which always improves mood and reminds you of the meaning of life.
I change once every 3-4 months. I use wallbase.cc to search for both.
Request in google pictures "minimal wallpapers". Semiannually.
Black or white backing. So I don't waste time. Ubuntu, gnome2.
I am conservative, and in 15 years I have changed five or six wallpapers :)

Since then, I have not changed it.
About 2-3 years ago I found one that completely suits me, since then there has not even been a desire to look for something new. I still remember all too well that incredibly boring wallpaper selection process that took me an entire hour, or even an hour and a half.
Yes, five minutes of meditation on the results of the query "sherlock wallpaper" or simply "sherlock". Of course, 95% of the time something is open on the screen, but what a charge of positive mood in the morning when you turn on the computer! True, this option cannot be considered typical for the habra community :-)
Don't worry, just install BolgenOS.
But seriously, under Linux (opensuse for sure) there is such a thing: xml, which describes the animation of the desktop background. So, I have a folder with *.jpg and a script that compiles all *.jpg to xml. I just periodically add files (for the last year, this is a photo from the official sites of the Formula 1 teams) and run this script. Thus, the wallpapers on my computer are kept in a boring state .
I don’t worry at all, I just put different colors on different desktops. And no wallpaper.
If I find something interesting, I'll post it. The last time I changed the wallpaper was at least six months ago.
I have a photo of my wife on my desktop. But, even with 2 monitors, I see this photo no more than once a week.
There are three problems for me:
1. Keychain.
2. Desktop wallpaper.
3. Melody on a mobile phone.
The vast majority of what I see is annoying, inconvenient, or simply not to my liking. Therefore, I spend a lot of time searching for each of the points, but if I already found what I like, I install it and forget it for a very long time.
Not advertising for the sake of interfacelift.com - the last ~ 5 were from there, I rarely change 3-4 times a year
For the last five or six years I have been using my own hand-made wallpaper , and I adjust all the colors of the interface to match it, if possible.
As soon as you manage to take a good picture of something really cool (cooler than what was before). The current wallpaper has been hanging since December 2010.
From time to time I come across photo collections like this one on crazys.info
Extremely rare, but yes. As a KDE user, I take wallpapers from the appropriate resource .
for desktop and laptop - never, ever since the absence of wallpaper saved memory in Windows 95. For a smartphone screen - yes, I choose from a gallery of photos that I took myself. When setting up a new smartphone, i.e. about once every 2 years.
As noted above, something is always open on the computer screen, I see the wallpaper that second that passes between turning on the computer and launching the desired application.
How often do you look at your desktop?
I have one of the standard wallpapers and it doesn't bother me a bit.
stand regular screw. change automatically, but I only see them while I start the browser and rdp sessions when the machine wakes up (I reboot with new patches)
Under XP once a year I put something randomly encountered from deviantart or a similar resource, and in the seven there is a good set of wallpapers, a standard theme with landscapes is spinning. Only in the test virtual machine with XP is still a drawing with DA.

Periodically entertains me with new wallpapers
I search in Google images every 1-2 months on both monitors. About the same for workers.
