Does the ATM count untaken banknotes?

Let's say I didn't take the money from the ATM and he pulled it back.
Will they return to my account? Does the ATM count them after being drawn?
If he does not count, what will happen if I pull out a few banknotes from the middle of the pack, and he tightens the rest?

No, they will not be returned to your account.
In any case, you will have a separate analysis with the bank owner of the ATM.

opium, proof? Why won't they return?
I think it's not a very rare situation when money is pulled back.

Reject cassette
Bonded banknotes, banknotes that the ATM does not like for one reason or another, as well as money that you did not take from the dispensing slot, are thrown into the reject cassette . It is twice the standard size.

From here
Note that the money does not go into ordinary cassettes with bills, as if you had brought them into a bill acceptor, namely, into a culling cassette. Therefore, they are not returned to the account, but after proceedings with the bank they may return.

If this is an ordinary ATM, and not a recycler, then without counting, the entire pack will be dropped into a separate box. The transaction log will record the amount of the issue and the fact that the pack (some) was forgotten and left for storage. The next step is to apply to the bank. If at the time of collection the amount of banknotes withheld coincides with the declared one, they will return it. Any disputed amount is not in favor of the client. Sometimes the issuing slot is equipped with a camera with a channel to the DVR. If in the process of parsing they see the "plucking out" of sheets, they can start pressing for fraud.
If you manage to grab the pack at the time of holding, the amount will be counted as successfully issued.
If, before collection, several clients at once pinched off part of the money from the "forgotten" bundle, it is technically impossible to make out where whose money is.
With regards to recyclers - it's a little easier there. Retracts the stack, counts and registers the amount of banknotes withheld in the journal, as is.

It depends on the bank settings. In general, if you do not take the money, the money is dropped into the reject cassette, the amount is not withdrawn from the account. But due to the appearance of "tweezers" - such a transaction is considered controversial, and is dealt with individually.
Cameras are installed in almost all ATMs, including as protection against plucking. There are several cameras in the ATM, the recordings are synchronized in time, the transaction time and your card number are superimposed on the video.
If you could not get the entire pack from the ATM, due to the fact that the pack was skewed, then feel free to call the bank. When recounting money at an ATM, an “extra” amount will pop up, and if they don’t see anything suspicious on the video either, the money will be returned to you.
