Does it make sense to write for AutoCAD?

AutoCAD has a built-in Auto Lisp scripting language.
What do you think, is it in demand now, does it make sense to study it (for writing plugins)? Or is it easier to find a commercial version of the extension for the required functionality?
Are there any beginner courses on AutoLisp, or should I just learn Lisp and switch from there to AutoCAD's version?
