Does it make sense to use cloud hosting instead of traditional web hosting?

Suppose I have a specific site implemented in ASP.NET MVC 4 . The site is a classic average catalog with about ≈ 10000-13000 items in it. There are such functions as search, filtering by parameters, registration / authorization, admin panel, user's personal account, adding / editing your catalog items.

Previously, I would not have thought about using cloud hosting. Now cloud technologies, apparently, have become mainstream and are already well-known by many.

And yet, does it make sense to host a site not on traditional web hosting , but on cloud hosting ? What are the worthwhile benefits of using the cloudhosting in the medium and long term for this kind of sites?

What for?
1. Regular hosting gives you fixed resources for a fixed fee.
2. Cloud - floating resources for a floating fee.
3. There is also an intermediate option that calls itself cloudy, but works like the first one.
The most reasonable argument is a gradual increase in load.
You pay more and more as your system grows.
It is advisable if we are talking about projects with hosting for tens and hundreds of thousands of rubles a month.
Your tasks (if the engine is written correctly) are perfectly solved by hosting for 150-300 rubles per month. Not cloudy.

You are not buying buzzwords, but specific features and parameters.

What's the difference between "cloud" and "traditional"? By definition, the word "cloud" - no, "cloud" operations - operations on a remote server, but the hosting itself is always remote, so "cloud hosting" is actually "butter oil".
So, ask them themselves, they know better.

now probably all cloud hostings, and indeed quite a large part of them were originally cloud.
apparently you don’t understand that the cloud is essentially virtualization in this case, I mastered it 8 years ago and everything became cloud for me.
