If you are interested in mathematics, you are going to deal with the mathematics of neural networks and your main work is theory, then you can learn how to python. It is one of the lightest languages in IT and has a battery powered standard library. Finding guides is not a problem.
If you are interested in the practical part, embedding neural networks in finished products, autopilot, bots, AI, analytics. Then you need to start with the language.
