Does it make sense to make games alone?
Hello.
The direction for myself was chosen not by games but by web development. There was an idea to develop in my free time as a game developer on the Unity engine, I know the C # syntax but I didn’t study unity, I believe that it will not be difficult to start in unity. Only I have a desire to work in this area not for a game studio or corporation, but to create and upload markets to the app store and google play. Many write that this is pointless, arguing that only organizations can make money on it.
But there are some examples where indies took off very strongly, but maybe earlier. What do you think, is it worth it now?

The exhaust from an indie developer, of course, can be. Think spelunky and flappy bird, for example. But there are only a few such successful games out of thousands or hundreds of thousands. And the bulk of indie games do not bring their creators either yachts or palaces, and even pizza is not a fact that is enough. This is primarily a hobby that may someday bring money. But it is not exactly.
On the other hand, the acquired skills and portfolio will increase your chances of getting a job in a professional gaming industry.
