If you can’t learn JS otherwise (no motivation, no money, etc.) - there is a point.
They always give correct advice: we learn the basics, we understand the framework, we write good code.
But in practice it is different. Therefore, if you can go through the tutorial on any of the sites (react / angular) - try to do something more complicated. Sooner or later, the understanding that the basics need to be tightened will come, but at the same time there will already be some coins in your pocket + the motivation to program will not be lost.
PS yes, this is bad advice.
If they hire you faster, then yes, if not, then you should not suffer.
