Does it make sense to learn java?

Should I learn java in 2019 and should I learn it as my first programming language?
I rush like a monkey to the left, to the right. I choose between JS and Java.
Strongly do not criticize, I understand that the question is very stupid, completely different languages, but still.

If you want confidence in the future, then there is nothing better than Java. With a very high probability, for the next 50 years, there will be a demand for Javist, and Javista will have high salaries.

Is it worth learning java in 2019

undoubtedly
in my experience, yes... it's better to start with typed languages.
JS is a relatively complex language (if not to judge the level of Vanilla & Jquery), but a rather ugly language. Desktop applications (ElectronJS) are written on it. For example, skype, postman, etc., it is one of the basic web programming languages, you can write a backend on it on a node, you can write applications for android, write games, etc. But in principle, all of the above can be implemented in Java.

I advise you to learn Java - this is one of the most popular languages. There are many vacancies for it.

Try online courses where the information is laid out clearly and in order. You can start with java and after you master it, switch to js, i.e. move towards full-stack development
