I have repeatedly seen how the same person or group of people (it doesn’t matter) create several almost identical projects (functionally the same) and squeeze their competitors out of the top (content sites for advertising).
Does it make sense to create several sites of the same subject with some differences (texts, structure, design...)?
And, are there any pitfalls?

The meaning can be found in anything, it’s just a matter of the amount of personal time and money - it’s unlikely that it will be useful for you to fill several sites with the same content, but create several sites of the same subject and within this one subject fill the sites with a variety of content is not as easy as it seems. People sometimes find it difficult to fill one site with unique content, and you want several at once. And it is unlikely that there will be any sense in non-unique content, because the places in the search results are already taken with this content.
