Does it make sense to buy an imac on intel if apple releases a series on ARM?

Does it make sense now to buy new imac27 2020, if apple promises that they will transfer all their computers to their own processors, which will break backward compatibility with everything that has already been done?

Those. will it not work that you are buying a computer that is already obsolete from the moment of purchase?

@balberbro

does it make sense for what?
Intel poppies will be relevant for another five years at least. and this is provided that the apple does not break off with its arm.
and in five years you will either sell it to oldfags, or roll Windows (more different system) and you will have a nice basin.

which will break backwards compatibility with everything that has already been done?
why would?
did you catch / remember the transition of the apple from powerpc to intel?
