Does it make sense to buy a used SSD for a laptop?

Does it make sense to buy a used SSD?

As far as I understand, SSDs have a strictly limited number of inclusions - i.e. the probability that he has already exhausted his resource is very high.

On the other hand, the problem is that we are talking about a fairly old Dell Vostro 1540 laptop - and it has a SATA connection connector, and the new ones come with a different one.

Or can I get some kind of adapter?

Inclusions do not like mechanical hard drives. The SSD has a limited resource for overwriting memory cells.

It really depends on which SSD you want to buy.
If we are talking about a server (enterprise) on a high-quality MLC, then many of these disks will outlive modern new ones many times over. Many that I saw had wear of 2-3%.
They are in abundance on SATA, so no adapters are required.
The only potential source of problems seems to be the situation when the SSD overheated for a long time, or worked in a hot climate, but adequate owners usually have normal cooling.
The source of such discs is eBay or Avito with us. Often, sellers post screenshots from SMART.

A resource can be evaluated by any of a variety of utilities. From the manufacturer ssd or third-party - some kind of SSDLife. (and it's not about inclusions)
SSD with a SATA connector on sale in bulk is not a problem at all.
So whether it makes sense is up to you.

for 1700r. buy the most deshmansky in the CSN, but with a 3-year guarantee , 120GB is enough for you for a laptop, and garbage
can be stored in the clouds))) , but ... if it suddenly breaks down in a week, you will be left without money and without a screw :(

The disk is a consumable, I see no reason to buy used consumables.
Well, it's like buying a used car tire, or an oil filter.
If it’s really bad with money and the price difference is huge, then some sense may appear.
Therefore, if money is tight, there is no way to buy an SSD in a store for 1500-3000 thousand, and you will be offered a guaranteed serviceable disk for 500 rubles - well, you can consider the option. If more expensive - what's the point?

Not inclusions, but rewriting cycles.
The number of recorded can be viewed in SMART. But cycles are not everything, a buggy controller delivers problems much more often.
On the other hand, the problem is that we are talking about a fairly old Dell Vostro 1540 laptop - and it has a SATA connection connector, and the new ones come with a different one.
With what other? Of course, there are other connectors, but what's stopping you from taking a drive with a SATA connector?
