Does IE update automatically?

Hello. I have Windows 8.1 Professional VL with Update 3 and the update service is disabled, so I can't get any updates. For the sake of interest, I decided to check my code in internet explorer and found this picture in the inspector:

I think I heard about Edge for the first time after the advent of Windows 10. Tell me, those who have windows 7 and windows 8.1 - have you also updated IE or what? Why am I writing this: if I have updated, therefore it should have been updated for everyone? So in the world, who has Windows 7, they also have IE11 now?
When I opened "About" there was a checkmark by default: Install new versions automatically. By this logic, it can be assumed that there are no people even with IE10. Because it is unlikely that someone removed the checkbox with automatic updates, and those who removed the checkbox do not use IE anyway. Because if you know about this checkbox, then you know that IE is not the best choice. Therefore, in the world now you have either Mozilla, or IE11, or Chromium, or Safari. Or I'm wrong?

IE is dead, remember.
It is actively used in order to force their new Edge browser. In fact, that's the only way it's used.
