Does having a phone case affect wireless charging?
I apologize in advance if the question seems stupid to you.
I want to buy a wireless charger for the 920th lumia. My phone is dressed in a rather thick leather case, possibly with a plastic backing inside from the back of the phone.
Unfortunately, I’m not strong in the principle of operation of wireless chargers (and there was no experience of using it), so I’m interested in the question, will the presence of a cover somehow affect the operation of charging? And in general, at what maximum distance from the surface of the charger will the phone start charging?

According to the old specification, the distance is 5mm, according to the new 40mm. Leather and plastic will not affect.
In general, as far as I am aware of the principle of wireless charging, the distance should influence, if, of course, there are no obstacles from the conductors (metal). It seems that efficiency will decrease with increasing distance, that is, charging will last a little longer, but I'm sure that it has excess power in charging to prevent problems with charging duration. In any case, even if the charging speed slows down, you won't even notice it.
There are different wireless chargers , when I chose for myself, in the store only one worked well with a thick case, this is Skyway ( wireless.skyway-tm.ru ). The rest with a case did not charge.
