Does Habr need translations?
Since my work is far from the main topic of Habr, I tried to contribute by making translations - albeit small, but, in my opinion, worthy of attention. Knowledge of English allows you to translate without using machine translation at all. I completely overcame snobbish thoughts like “let them learn the language” in myself - I just put myself in the place of others, imagining that there is interesting information, for example, in Norwegian, and I was not used to trusting machine translation. So I would be very grateful to the person who would correctly convey this information to me.
In practice, it turns out quite the opposite. Cons without explanation at all, intellectual comments like “why is this here?” - see habrahabr.ru/blogs/humour/126102/ - moved to Humor, originally published in iPad.
And the thought came - or maybe, really, “learn the language?”
I say goodbye to sim. I don’t expect much answers, so, “thinking out loud” ...

We really need translations of useful technical articles. Don't waste your time on iPad cases.
Forget the cons, do what you think is right. My blog, for example, is pretty “dull” and full of minuses, but I keep it not for habr but for those who need it, for myself as a last resort. Or do you have a goal - to score a bunch of pluses? Why do you need them?
First of all, we need texts. Good ones. Here in the definition of what is "good" there will be problems.
For me - this
is - new, unique - cross-posting - this is am and often kg. I read RSS when I wake up and see the same thing from another resource, and I'm already tempted to nail the karma to the boyan poster.
- unexpected, but interesting - you need to hook something, otherwise I'll scroll through the nafig
- information-rich, but not too much. the two screens of formulas are "many bukaf". 10 pictures and text two paragraphs about nothing - this is “mala bukaf”
