Does Google index the contents of the content attribute in the meta tag for chemaorg?

There is a list of recipes, each of which is described by microdata. So, Yandex unambiguously indexes the contents of content in meta:

<div itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Recipe">
...
<meta itemprop="description" content="Описание рецепта..."/>
...
</div>

Naturally, itemprop="description" can be placed on spans, divs, etc., but that's exactly what I'm interested in.
