Does anyone use CISS?
It's worth it? In general, the question about the silicone hose is of concern: how much is it, in principle, enough? For a year? For five?

We use. There have been no complaints about the hose for about 3 years. We print in small batches for our needs. Of all the problems: sometimes it says that the paint has run out and the cartridge needs to be refilled. The problem is solved very quickly.
Provided relatively continuous printing - worth it. But if the toner dries up it will be a pity.
Year 4+ worked on Canon Pixma IP4200.
A couple of days ago, the printer died (more precisely, the print head), there were no complaints about the CISS, text was printed, sometimes a photo on photographic paper.
Faced with the fact that I had to modify the printer, or rather the MFP, with a file (literally!), Although it was listed in the list of compatible devices. After that, they did not experience any problems with printing, however, as VeMax wrote , sometimes the firmware is buggy.
CISS should only be used when printing in very large volumes. If less, then it is better to look towards refillable cartridges. I recommend products from chernil.net (both refillable cartridges and CISS).
As for the cable, moderate print volumes were enough for me for 2 years (then I just changed the printer and switched to refillable cartridges). But here it depends on how it is laid - whether there is an interference or kinks.
worth it if you print a lot ...
enough for a long time, depends on the frequency of printing and the printer
