Does a programmer need a management degree?

At the moment I'm an iOS programmer, in the future, of course, I'm considering climbing the career ladder, team leader, all things.
The main goal is the position of a team leader in a foreign company. At the moment I'm learning to be a manager. I decided to ask - do I need it? Can a manager's diploma help you get the desired position in a Russian company? And foreign?

The knowledge that you get will definitely help, but the diploma here helps only if you have the appropriate knowledge.
