I want to use squid under windows.
Have you tried? What are the pros and cons?

Cons - Squid's non-native platform, so adventures can be unpredictable. Pluses - in general, no.

I used it in the early 2000s on Win2k on dialup, it was launched as a service. Successfully cut ads and cached.
Sometimes he bucked and ate all the memory.
It is better, IMHO, to run in a virtual machine in a native environment, or on a separate machine, depending on what is available.
