Do you think it is necessary for a front-end developer to know algorithms?

Who already has serious work experience, tell me, did they come in handy at least once?

In many tasks, it is enough for a frontender to know the copy and paste algorithm.

I heard from my front-ender friends that they didn’t (unless they could drive at interviews), but they were middles, not seniors. It came in handy for one gentleman when he went through a social security service to a cool outsourcing company. Lack of knowledge of algorithms and data structures interferes when you need to look for a solution to a problem (abstruse tree traversals, optimization of enumeration of some values), and the explanation of the solution is written in this complex terminology, and not in simple words. It is better to spend two or three months and figure it out when there is no blockage at school / work than not to know at all and be taken by surprise at the most inopportune moment

You can live without it. But without this knowledge - you can screw up cool.
