Do you have your own project, if not why not?

Share your thoughts out loud, urls are optional.
What do you code in secret from the authorities or as a hobby at home? Purely for yourself or want to shoot? Maybe it was already closed, you are just opening, developing or dreaming ...
If not, why not?

I have been working independently on one large project in order to earn money (already 2.5 years).
Why can't I finish? During this time, I got married, changed 3 apartments, made 4 repairs (I used to be engaged in construction), changed jobs.

3 years ago I went into freelance specifically to have free time for creativity. In fact, it turned out that way - a weekly freelance download "to support the pants" and for a year now I have my own project on yii. Some time ago I threw a cry on Habr - I offered to cooperate and risk my "20% free time". 5 people responded, one of them stayed with him and work. The general summary from the conversations: good specialists are sitting on the needle of a good salary, there is no desire to get out of the comfort zone and overstrain. Many people have an idea about a startup "this is such a highly paid job for a salary, which must necessarily shoot in 100% of cases." It's strange to me)
"Hungry newbies" who want to get involved somewhere and programmers with some entrepreneurial streak responded.

Yes, I just can’t find a person who will kick me to do something ...
It happens that I start doing a service, and after 2-3 days I get bored, I switch to the main job, the project remains hanging. Months go by, but he still does not move, as they say, his hands do not reach. Sometimes, “passing” by the folder with the project, you stop for a second, you think: “you can still do it there”, and ... you go further where you went.
So, in my case, I need someone who would support in such a situation, because oh, how difficult it is to do anything alone. Well, or in the ideal case, to assemble a team to which tasks can be delegated. Those. do everything seriously.

There is. I study in the evenings, I write in ASP.NET MVC. The main essence of the project is to create a database of food markets in all cities of Russia. It personally hurts me that shopping centers are growing by leaps and bounds, and markets where you can buy fresh products are closed. I am not looking for material benefits, except for moral satisfaction. Well, pump skills

There is a cool idea related to social networks (already existing and even those that will be created). But it is so large-scale that it is impossible to master it yourself. I'll have to break the idea into a bunch of subtasks and then I can estimate how much I need to attract specialists. I think it will take 3 months to understand the depth of the issue for the TK. On the other hand, I worry that I myself can drown and not swim to the finish line.

There are a lot of ideas/projects. Some started to write, some are in the drafting stage. None have finished yet. Maybe something in the DNA. I'm mad at myself.

There are a couple of projects that are now about 50% complete each. Now both are frozen. Recently, another idea for a mobile application came to mind, but I have no experience here. As long as it stays on the shelf.

I am slowly programming for iOS, thereby increasing my skill and gaining a portfolio. There are no large projects, small educational utilities. It does not bring much profit, but it pays for the costs and allows you to drink coffee once a day :)

I'm thinking about one project, but since I'm just learning programming, I won't pull my idea unambiguously. It's scary to start and at some stage to understand what is easier to redo than to refine that shit code that I'll put on.

I have my own project TorrentMonitor , which I have been working on for almost 3 years. Initially, I did it for myself, as it turned out - many people need it, since then I have been finishing it and supporting it. A couple of years ago I met a Mac OS developer, since then they have released several applications for Mac OS . Well, this year I also joined the HackStore team . All this is done for the sake of interest, all that I earned on these projects was enough for me to pay for the Internet a couple of times :) But I'm not interested in money here, I'm interested in developing, although I'm an admin by profession, but I'll think about changing my specialization to php.

Have your own project . It does not claim to be unique, it takes a lot of strength. I want to add a lot of things, but the main work eats up all the time. I have long wanted to do something of my own, but did not reach the hands. There were projects that I abandoned. =) And so - the main thing is to do - and do it better than anyone else.

Rather, an underproject is a landfill. I'm experimenting with my site - I'll start posting one thing, then another. Either blog or articles. I’ll write in PHP from scratch, then I’ll install WordPress, now it’s running on node.js + express, for experience, so to speak.
A few months ago, I more or less formed the concept of my site - I'm trying to turn it into a set of services for the so-called. no stalkers and no monitors.

There were and are, but all joint - I have the development and partly the concept, partners - everyday tasks and administrative issues. No time for solo. Projects are very costly in terms of resources (time, money), if we talk about normal quality. Normal quality is one for which you can take money.

There are 2 projects - one launched, the second at the final stage of development. The first one could be called a real startup, as this is the most common service business that brings good revenue. The second one was outsourced (which I control almost every day).
My conclusions: pure business, not programming.

There are rather projects that I maintain in a state of working capacity and occasionally there is time for minor improvements.
There are no new ideas for my projects on the web. And is it necessary? It was 10 years ago that I wanted to do something unique for that time. And today everything you need is already there.
I thought to study development for android or ios, because. it's wildly popular and easy to monetize today, but I don't see the potential until a new class of device like Google Glass comes out, imo the market is overheated. Games are primitive due to the nature of the platform. You can count the real benefits on the fingers.
In general, it is better to direct your efforts towards professional development through books / courses or dedicate to the family.
