Do we have an analogue of DARPA?
Hello everyone,
Recently I asked this question , the answers to which were quite convincing.
But still, do we have something so serious, the scale of the American DARPA? Many times I came across that Darpa hires developers for this or that project, in addition, almost every month we see a new video with the participation of Boston Dynamics robots that inspire fear and trust , funded by the same DARPA. Sometimes it's even embarrassing.
Summing up :), how can domestic developers get into the Russian Darpa, because, as I understand it, the most interesting and advanced developments can only take place in “such places” (probably).
I will be grateful for any answer.

In short, no.
In more detail, then (... a lot of swearing ...) no.
In general, history has funny incidents.
In the USSR, there was a very competent R&D planning system in general - the state ordered not just individual surveys and projects, but the entire system (that is, the country bought not just a new aircraft, but a plant for the production of these aircraft, along with all patents, related production lines, repair bases and etc). The Americans bit their elbows about this very much, since the savings for the state turned out to be colossal.
On the other hand, the results of individual studies and patents, although they formally belonged to the state, were protected much more strictly than in the countries of wild capitalism - and not because of the secrecy regime, but so that the guys from the neighboring research institute would not sniff out about them. As a result, the country owned a bunch of inventions that did not leave their native factory.
In our country, this mysterious conglomerate OtkatPromTorgov and RosNanoPilov is called everywhere with one mysterious word "Defence"
I think I will not be mistaken if I say that we do not have a coherent and well-thought-out strategy in the field of developing promising types of weapons. however, this does not mean that individual research institutes do not develop similar topics, but everything rests on finances, management shortsightedness and lack of planning for the future.
Everyone wants to "recapture the money" as quickly as possible.
It seems that now either they have introduced, or they are going to introduce a refusal to finance R&D; this means that the “boxes” will have to finance the development of promising topics for their own money, and the customer will only buy ready-made R&D projects.
So, unfortunately, we do not have an analogue of DARPA. But separate developments are underway;)
By the way, in our country, in Soviet times, the development of digital-analog communications (and equipment, and protocols, etc.) over long distances was carried out by the Ministry of Railways for the needs of the Soviet railway. Quite an analogue of DARPAnet, over time it could grow into a Soviet analogue of the Internet.
