Scalability

Do I need to split the site into subdomains?

There is a site, attendance is planned in the limit of 500 tons. per day, the site will weigh an average of 10 gigs and uses PHP, MYSQL.
So I think it can transfer images to img.site.ru, files to files.site.ru, and scatter one database into 2 parts, for example user.site.ru, and leave the main content on site.ru.
Do you think it's worth doing this? Or is it better to scale the site vertically?
It's just that if you leave everything on one host, then the server will fall, and this is the first time I'm contacting this.
I apologize in advance if something is not clear.
