Do I need to learn Java EE for Spring?

Some people say that Java EE is outdated when they first started learning Java themselves. Others say that you need to know Java EE, since without the basics of Java EE it will be difficult to learn Spring

Java EE is a set of standards. And up-to-date. Spring is built on these standards. You can not teach, and the point is not that it will be hard, you just won’t become a professional. You will be like a girl who only knows about her car that it is red and sometimes you need to fill it with gasoline.

In order to write with Spring, you need to read the Spring documentation.
Now it is a separate platform from Java EE with its own documentation. But better take Spring Boot
