Do I need to connect the ATMEGA8 AVCC input to +5V or to ground if not using an ADC, and accordingly a support?

Specifically, in Mega8 there was a bug - Vcc and AVcc are closed inside the controller
And PORTA works from AVcc . In general, it is better to connect it directly to Vcc if an ADC is not used, or to Vcc through a low-pass filter (choke in series + capacitors in parallel) if an ADC is used. More details - here, for example
