Do I need IPv6 for my home router?
I want to give the cheapest router with 802.11n support (300Mbps) so that the Internet can fly.
And suddenly I remembered that there is such a thing as IPv6. Is he needed at all?
I suppose here the answers will immediately fall down that the type of provider must also support it. So is there a difference for the Internet with and without IPv6, if the provider supports it?
.
PS. Thanks OIA for the link, I seem to have figured something out. The thing is who is the owner of the device, if you are a programmer, an administrator and you need it for work, then buy ipv6, if you are a user from the street :) then forget about it. And gamers are a different element, they don’t even have to tell something about it, they always buy twice as much as they need it. So the gamer will argue for 2.5 hours just to justify what he has already bought in silence.
So I will buy ipv4 for my relatives, and then I can get ipv6 for myself.
I'm a software developer after all. :)

Of course you need it, especially if your local network has more than 4 billion hosts
So far, no resources have been noticed available only for 6-ke and in the future 3-5 years, most likely, there will be a double stack (but, as it were, the prophecy is not a thankful task).
The six works without NAT - it loads the router faster and less (if, for example, your provider gave you gigabit, it's at least difficult to get it on 4-ke). If pr gives 6-ku, it's better to take =) But there is really little benefit.
