Do I need another online tool for GTD?
Not so long ago I learned about GTD. And I became, if not a fan, then at least an admirer of this technique, which can allow me to deal with things (yes, yes, I know that this is not translated correctly), and plan these very things for a long time ahead, prioritizing them and doing them as their offensive. I was able to get acquainted with two online resources dedicated to working with tasks: Remeber The Milk and i.doit.im. The first one seemed a little ascetic to me, while the second one just shone with its javascript tricks, allowing you to do many things without reloading the page. At the same time, I saw complaints from users of these systems about their lack of functionality. And I thought that perhaps it makes sense to create a tool for working on the GTD method from scratch, implementing the functionality based on the wishes and recommendations of its experienced users?
How do I envision this project?
First, it will be written in C#. I have been writing on it for over 5 years and I love it. And yes, I know that hosting ASP.NET projects is expensive, but this is not an issue right now and will need to be addressed as we get closer to it. So, put it in the someday folder.
Secondly, in order to save time, you need to get rid of the need to reinvent the wheel in the form of a content management system. This is not necessary, if only because the basic functions of managing users, content, settings and appearance are available in all free CMS, and writing a plugin for your needs is usually not difficult. Therefore, Orchard CMS was chosen as the basis for the project., with which I have already managed to get acquainted and which I liked even despite some incompleteness.
And thirdly, the project must be Open Source . This is necessary so that everyone interested in its development can help not only with advice and ideas, but also by implementing new features or fixing bugs, which will always be enough. So, if this idea is recognized as viable, I will be glad if there are those who want to work together on this project.
What will end users of this product get? They will be given a tool, maybe even an ideal tool, that will enable them to plan and run their affairs as efficiently as possible.
What will the developers of this product get? First, valuable experience in developing tools for GTD. Secondly, no less valuable experience in developing plugins for a system using ASP.NET MVC, Razor, IoC and other tasty things. Thirdly, the pleasure of participating in a project that people will really need.
What will I get from this? Firstly, I am implementing a good, necessary project. In addition, if this project is really needed and I will not participate in it alone, then I will be able to meet developers who love their work and who can and want to do it not because they are paid for it, but because, that they are interested. Who knows, maybe in the future the same team will work on another, no less interesting project?
And finally: making a profit is not the main goal of this project. If you manage to earn something, it will be great. At least I don't really count on it. Personally, I am included in all three groups described above, so I still will not be at a loss, having received a good tool, good friends, and invaluable experience.
And once again: does humanity need another online tool for GTD?

This is a dime a dozen. Wunderlist, Wunderkit, Nexus ToDo. Why else is needed? Maybe just a good search?
Yes Yes Yes. Asana has been especially pleased lately. It develops very quickly. Yes, and it seems to me that there are already so many of them that it is better to look for another idea for the project.
Another *online* tool is not needed, synchronization with offline, with other devices, and with Google calendar is important now. Those. even if the site is very cool, it will be of little use when not at the computer, and the more devices (like wunderlist) is supported, the better, everything else does not really matter. Now toodledo.com, in my opinion, only rules because, despite the idiotic design / usability, it provides an API for access from everywhere.
