Do I need an antivirus on my Android device?
Hello!
I recently bought an Android phone. In the android market I saw a couple of antiviruses. Tell me, does it make sense to install an antivirus on the phone, or are they made more, for "to be"?
Thanks in advance.

There is little sense from the antivirus, although given the dump in the market, where fifty trojans are found every six months, it may be necessary. And if you are still downloading software from the side, then it is advisable to install, IMHO, if you don’t feel sorry for 4 MB of RAM (this is how much Dr. Web consumes with a resident module).
I have been using Android for a year and a half, the device is rooted, I develop applications on it, I constantly put some left apk. And at least one trojan \ virus grabbed, but alas not :) IMHO is relevant for Americans, mostly such applications are disguised as some kind of goodies for popular games, programs, in this case it is enough to check the author of the program. The only useful function of some antiviruses is to track the phone if it was stolen.
I don't see much point. Don't put all sorts of dumb APKs outside the market and there will never be problems. Personally, I don’t know people who the antivirus on Android really helped)
I use drweb to check my phone's flash drive after a visit to an unhealthy walking computer with a bunch of venereal disease viruses
In general, be careful about the applications that you install - and it will not be needed. Here, as in ordinary Linux, there are only African viruses of the form "and you put me, give me all the rights, and I'll do something."
