Do I need a Mac (OS X) for Ionic development?

I plan to add to my skills - Python (Flask) and JS (Angular) - something for mobile development. I feel that I won’t pull both platforms - Java and Swift, to be honest, I don’t think that I can even pull one platform, and I’m already spreading myself on the backend and frontend. I'm looking at Ionic and don't really understand - how are hybrid applications tested - in a browser or an emulator? Selfish question - do you need a poppy for a normal workflow or not? Financially, I will pull it, but of course it will be an argument in choosing.

You can develop Ionic apps on any operating system you prefer. In fact, Ionic has been developed at various times on Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows. However, right now you'll need to use the command line in order to follow this guide and you must have OS X in order to develop and deploy iPhone apps, so OS X is recommended if possible.

I’ll add on my own: if you are not tied rigidly to the current platform (and it seems that you are not tied) and you can afford it, then mac / osx is an excellent choice.
irl I only know one person who didn't like osx and went back to the previous platform.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
