Do all pictures that are displayed on the site have to have a meaningful title in the file name?

Hello Everyone,
Excites the following question. Do all images displayed on the site need to have a meaningful file name? Is it possible to autogenerate a regular unique identifier for them and not fool yourself? How will this affect search engine optimization? For example, for each article, you need to display an image on the left. Duplicate article title for image filename? Please tell me where to read about it.
Thank you.

@stagor

it will be a plus only if you are trying to get into the search by images, and it is more important to prescribe alt.
even from the pictures, if you look at the output of Google, then in the top there are pictures with names like 5ml3jkljn423b5m.jpg
