DNS records, good manual

Hey!
How much I don’t read about DNS records A, NS, MX, PTR, CNAME. I still swim when using them.
Please advise a good manual or maybe an educational interactive guide.
Apparently, they can generally be changed not through the domain panel, but from some text configs.
I would like to know more about this.
