Django append slash and site indexing?

I have Django automatically padding the URL with a slash, or removing the slash when I request www.example.com/
How does this affect indexing? Will there be duplicate pages? Should I override APPEND_SLASH and do a 301 redirect by the webserver?

I apologize for the stupid question, I looked at the logs of the web server and django, if it is APPEND_SLASH, then there is a 301 redirect, everything is Feng Shui
