Distribution of Wi-Fi from an external adapter?

Good evening everyone. Miracles, and only what the hell has settled in my computer, that after turning it off and on, external wi-fi simply stopped distributing wi-fi. But seriously, now I'll tell you what and how it happened. There is a laptop. It has a built-in network card, there is an external Wi-Fi adapter WN727N. Actually, the Internet was distributed from it, and the laptop itself was connected to the internal network card (that is, if, simply, the laptop took the Internet from its card, used it and gave it to the external one for other devices). The only thing I did not like was the local ip address of the adapter, I typed the following in the terminal

ip link set up dev wlxc04a002f8256
ip addr add 192.168.2.1/24 dev wlxc04a002f8256
I found on the Internet that this way you can change the address before rebooting. In ifconfig, the address changed, but on the device it remained the same, he spat, the time was later. Today I decided to go back and find out what's wrong. As a result, when a wi-fi adapter is connected, it simply does not distribute wi-fi and sometimes shows a notification that the wi-fi connection is broken. The whole thing was configured through the GUI in network-manager, in access point mode. Actually, what to do? Where to go to solve this problem?
UDP: It seems that I’m not a completely stupid person, and so to speak, I’ve been familiar with Linux for more than a day, I did a lot of things, set up a lot of things, and then somehow I got stuck and I don’t even know where to poke my head, I didn’t touch /etc/network/interfaces, checked, there is nothing added. Tried assigning withifconfig wlxc04a002f8201 inet 192.168.2.1The result is the same. Everything was done on Ubuntu. And oh yes, I almost forgot, I don’t know if it’s important or not, but I’ll say it. After connecting the adapter to the laptop in ifconfig, there is no line with the address assigned to it, and after you write one of the commands listed above, it will appear, but you just need to try to distribute wi-fi and this line disappears again.

The problem is solved, Wi-Fi began to be distributed as expected. I solved it by reinstalling dnsmasq and forcibly disabling dnsmasq before starting Wi-Fi distribution. When distributing, he turned it on himself and gave out the subnet address.
