Distribution of desktop programs?

There is a desire to write some of your own program in order to gain experience and replenish your portfolio.
But it would be even more interesting to get ten or two bucks for it. Therefore, the following questions are of interest:
1) What are the sites for selling the finished source code?
2) I heard that there are publishers for games, are there any for the "desktop"?
