Displaying an image from a broken laptop to a monitor. How?

Good day, I have a laptop with a broken display. There are VGA / HDMI outputs. It is required to display the image on the monitor. vista installed. But the priority is to display the BIOS image, model asus k55s. Thank you in advance for your help.

A long time ago, on my old IBM, this was solved by disconnecting the cable (wire) of the native monitor from the motherboard. The video card itself found additional. monitor (connected via D-Sub) and began to use it as the main display.

Have you tried reading the manual ?
Fn + F7 Turn off the display
NOTE: Make sure an external monitor is connected to the notebook.
