difference between boudrate and sample rate?

As far as I understand, this is the number of signal measurements per second. And sampling is the division of a continuous signal into blocks (certain values, in fact, ADC), with a certain sampling rate. From the point of view of logic, the definitions mean the same thing. But I have doubts that I have misinterpreted the terms. Are there any differences?

Baudrate is the number of bits transmitted per second.
The sampling rate is the sampling rate of a time-continuous signal.
The first is used for data transfer, the second - for ADC, for example.
