I started to study the C language, for the following purposes:
- I want to understand how the PC works;
- I want to understand how malware works;
- I want to write my own OC.
Did I choose the right language? And is it worth learning, at least for the basics?

For such purposes, they usually choose an assembler and a couple of books like Tanenbaum "Computer Architecture" and "Operating Systems"

Not quite right. This requires more assembler. No, you can write the axis in C, but the PC works at a much lower level :)
